Attention Everybody!


                        
                        You may be aware of the press  release issued by the DIPR on 10.10.12 about the HONOURABLE MINISTER’s discussions with the COMMERCIAL TAXES DEPARETMENT  officials.   We came to know through the press release, the HONOURABLE MINISTER has praised the COMMERCIAL TAXES DEPARETMENT for achieving the 26% growth. At the same time the HONOURABLE MINISTER has asked the TNPSC for the DIRECT RECRUITMENTof 1325 vacancies of ACs, DCTOs,Assistants,Jas,Typist,etc.,as we know from the same press release.

            While we are expressing our happiness over the remarks of the HM, we can not conceal our disappointments over his request for the DIRECT RECRUITMENT of 1325 vacancies including the dream posts of most of us namely, ACs and DCTOs.

            It is our reasonable ambition and dream to climb the upper echelons of the administration. If the department goes for the DR, our ambitions and dreams will not be achieved in our service time.

            We have toiled so much for the betterment of the Department. We have worked hard for several long years amidst various hardships including additional workloads, reports, statistics, audits, conferences, inspections, etc.,

            The DIRECT RECRUITMENT brings new faces to the Department, they have not made any contributions to the department so far. Existing staff and officers are responsible for the growth of this department. Instead of conferring such benefits to the existing employees, the government opts for DR. We are not against the DIRECT RECRUITMENT for JA/Typist and stenos. We strongly oppose DIRECT RECRUITMENT for DCTOs and ACs.

            The future DIRECT RECRUITMENT personnel have nothing to do with the past glorious performances of the department. It is the sincere and dedicated work of its present employees.

            It is the matter of right for its employees to demand for the promotions and it is the duty of the Government for providing such promotions.

            The following are the cadre strength of the Department for each posts:

ACs                354
DCTOs           1309
Assistants      2448
Jr.Asst.           1407
Typists              652
Stenos              127

Total                6297

            In the above posts JA/Typist/Steno are feeder category posts. If the DIRECT RECRUITMENT is made for the posts no one will be get affected. The remaining posts can be filled by the promotion chances. Many of us are kept in the cadre for since a long time.

            Instead of giving promotions to the existing loyal employees of the Department, the Government goes for the DR. It is ridiculous and heart burning. If the Government wants to fill up the posts only through the DIRECT RECRUITMENT let us face it by demanding a call for the closed door recruitment, that is to say a Special Recruitment Drive for ACs and DCTOs, inviting applications from existing staff and officers of the CTD.

            You may think in a negative way if you are a pessimist. You may ask the following questions.

            1 Does it work?
            2 Will the Government listen to this?
            3 Is it Possible?
            4 Is there any precedence?
            5 What are the criteria?, etc.,

            All questions will be answered, if you think in an optimistic way. Let us answer the above questions as

            No one has ever asked for In-House Recruitment so far. Without placing any such demands, how can any one expect remedy from the Government.

            It is up to you to make such demands and force the Government to accept your demands.

            It is up to you to get promoted.
